Getting Started On The Piano Video

Piano lessons begin somewhere and these are the first rudimentary understandings important to playing. Your first task is to learn the names and locations of the keys on the keyboard.  You can't learn by fumbling around from the beginning.  Learn those piano keys.

This video is fairly short and contains some very good insights, especially talking about sharps and flats.

  1. Why do you make such a big deal out of discovering the "concept" of the Major Scale; and then begin this video by delving into the letter names of the notes?

    1. Before a beginner can understand the major scale and it's importance, they must first get oriented. To "get started", one must learn the keyboard and other basic concepts first. That's what this video is about.

For information on scales, look to the "Scales and Keys" video. Thanks.
